- Brought the infamous physical special split

Pokémon is divided by generations, roughly chronologically divided by release date. For each generation, a new main role-playing game series is released, with a new region, new Pokémon characters, and possibly new gameplay concepts. A new region is also explored. Each generation will also have three starter Pokémons. Starter Pokémon are the Pokémon Trainers choose at the beginning of their Pokémon adventure.

Gen 7: Sun, Moon, UltraSun & UltraMoon
- Region: Alola
- Introduced 81 new Pokémon
- Removes the presence of gyms & instead presented the player with the island challenge & various trial captains

Gen 8: Sword & Shield
- Region: Galar
- Added 88 new Pokémon
- Introduced Galarian forms, the Champion Cup, Dynamax, Max Raid battles, & Pokémon Camp

Data Sources

  1. Pokémon Stats : We collected data about characteristics and statistics of each Pokémon, including name, type, strength level, etc. This dataset can be downloaded from Kaggle, which provided us with detailed information on each Pokémon.

  2. Pokémon Images : We collected image for each Pokémon. This dataset can be downloaded from Kaggle, which would helped us connect each Pokémon with a concrete image.

  3. Pokémon Battles : We collected the fight data between different Pokémons from Kaggle.

  4. Pokémon Film and Video Games : From Wikipedia, we collected data about Pokémon film revenue and video game units sold over the years.

  5. Pokémon Geolocation : Finally, we also obtained data regarding the sightings of Pokémon around the world for the Pokémon Go game.
